“The Following Realization Has Changed My Life and My Faith!”
By: Charlie Powers (2014)
About 8 years ago I was married. I ended up filing for divorce. After the divorce was finalized, a certain assembly disfellowshipped me, and asked me not to attend their gatherings any more; because I “violated new testament law.” At the time, I could feel, I just knew that this was wrong. I knew and know Torah, better than most. How could the ‘messiah’ contradict his Father’s Word? Did he change his Father’s Word?
I then set out to determine how this topic about divorce could get so twisted up. How could we go from an easy to understand set of laws governing divorce, set forth by YHWH, to the way I was treated after having to divorce my then-wife? What I have found in the last 8 plus years, most of it recently, has revolutionized my faith, even my whole world view!
The first major realization was that the Brit Chadasha/ new testament was not inspired scripture, and was never intended to be viewed as so. The internal evidence compared with the Torah and Tanakh as a whole, showed this quite easily. Once I realized that a believer’s faith was not to come from the ‘new testament’, then I started to look at the TRUE beginning, the TRUE origin, differently. THAT has been an eye opening view!
With that said, I present these scriptures, with the intent to help my other brothers, sisters and friends to understand the difference they will see and hear in me. The following realization has changed my life and my faith for the better!
Deu 24:16 “Fathers are not put to death for their children, and children are not put to death for their fathers, each is to die for his own sin.
Eze 18:2 “What do you mean when you use this proverb concerning the land of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are blunted’?
Eze 18:3 “As I live,” declares the Master YHWH, “you shall no longer use this proverb in Yisra’ĕl.
Eze 18:4 “See, all beings are Mine, the being of the father as well as the being of the son is Mine. The being that is sinning shall die.
Eze 18:5 “But if a man is righteous and shall do right-ruling and righteousness,
Eze 18:6 if he has not eaten on the mountains, nor lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Yisra’ĕl, nor defiled his neighbor’s wife, nor comes near a woman during her uncleanness,
Eze 18:7 if he does not oppress anyone, does return to the debtor his pledge, does not commit robbery, does give his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with a garment,
Eze 18:8 if he does not lend on interest or take increase, turns back his hand from unrighteousness, executes right-ruling in truth between man and man,
Eze 18:9 if he walks in My laws, and he has guarded My right-rulings in truth – he is righteous, he shall certainly live!” declares the Master YHWH.
Eze 18:10 “But if he has brought forth a son who is a robber or a shedder of blood, who does any of these –
Eze 18:11 whereas he himself did not do any of these – that also he has eaten on the mountains or defiled his neighbor’s wife,
Eze 18:12 if he has oppressed the poor and needy, has committed robbery, he does not return a pledge, has lifted his eyes to the idols, or did abomination,
Eze 18:13 if he has lent on interest or taken increase – shall he live? He shall not live! If he has done any of these abominations, he shall certainly die, his blood is upon him.
Eze 18:14 “But see, if he has brought forth a son who sees all the sins which his father has done, but he fears and does not do likewise,
Eze 18:15 has not eaten on the mountains, and has not lifted his eyes to the idols of the house of Yisra’ĕl, has not defiled his neighbor’s wife,
Eze 18:16 has not oppressed anyone, nor withheld a pledge, nor committed robbery, has given his bread to the hungry and covered the naked with a garment,
Eze 18:17 turns back his hand from wronging the poor, and he has not taken interest or increase, has executed My right-rulings and walked in My laws – he shall not die for the crookedness of his father, he shall certainly live!
Eze 18:18 “His father, because he used oppression, robbed his brother, and did what is not good among his people, see, he shall die for his crookedness.
Eze 18:19 “And you said, ‘Why should the son not bear the crookedness of the father?’ But the son has done right-ruling and righteousness, he has guarded all My laws and he does them, he shall certainly live.
Eze 18:20 “The being who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the crookedness of the father, nor the father bear the crookedness of the son. The righteousness of the righteous is upon himself, and the wrongness of the wrong is upon himself.
Eze 18:21 “But the wrong, if he turns from all his sins which he has done, and he shall guard all My laws, and shall do right-ruling and righteousness, he shall certainly live, he shall not die.
Eze 18:22 “All the transgressions which he has done shall not be remembered against him – in his righteousness that he has done, he shall live.
Eze 18:23 “Have I any pleasure in the death of the wrong?” declares the Master YHWH. “Is it not that he should turn from his ways, and live?
Eze 18:24 “But when a righteous one turns away from his righteousness and does unrighteousness, according to all the abominations that the wrong one has done, shall he live? All his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered. For his trespass which he has committed, and for his sin which he has committed, for them he shall die.
Eze 18:25 “And you said, ‘The way of YHWH is not right.’ Hear now, O house of Yisra’ĕl, is My way not right? Is it not your ways that are not right?
Eze 18:26 “When a righteous one turns away from his righteousness, and does unrighteousness, and he dies in it, it is because of his unrighteousness which he has done that he dies.
Eze 18:27 “And when the wrong turns away from the wrong which he has done, and he does right-ruling and righteousness, he keeps himself alive.
Eze 18:28 “Because he sees and turns away from all the transgressions which he has done, he shall certainly live, he shall not die.
Eze 18:29 “And the house of Yisra’ĕl have said, ‘The way of YHWH is not right.’ Are My ways not right, O house of Yisra’ĕl? Is it not your ways that are not right?
Eze 18:30 “Therefore I judge you, O house of Yisra’ĕl, every one according to his ways,” declares the Master YHWH. “Repent, and turn back from all your transgressions, and let not crookedness be a stumbling-block to you.
Eze 18:31 “Cast away from you all the transgressions, by which you have transgressed, and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Yisra’ĕl? Eze 18:32 “For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” declares the Master YHWH. “So turn back and live!”
Jer 31:29 “In those days they shall no longer say, ‘The fathers ate sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are blunted.’
Jer 31:30 “But each one shall die for his own crookedness – whoever eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be blunted.
Jer 31:31 “See, the days are coming,” declares YHWH, “when I shall make a new covenant with the house of Yisra’ĕl and with the house of Yehuḏah
Jer 31:32 not like the covenant I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Mitsrayim, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,” declares YHWH.
Jer 31:33 “For this is the covenant I shall make with the house of Yisra’ĕl after those days, declares YHWH: I shall put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it on their hearts. And I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.
Jer 31:34 “And no longer shall they teach, each one his neighbor, and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know YHWH,’ for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares YHWH. “For I shall forgive their crookedness, and remember their sin no more.”
Isa 44:6 “Thus said YHWH , Sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, and his Redeemer, YHWH of hosts, ‘I am the First and I am the Last, besides Me there is no Elohim.
Isa 44:7 ‘And who is like Me? Let him call and declare it, and lay it before Me, since I appointed the everlasting people. And the events that are coming and those that do come, let them declare these to them.
Isa 44:24 Thus said YHWH , your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb, “I am YHWH , doing all, stretching out the heavens all alone, spreading out the earth, with none beside Me,
Isa 44:25 frustrating the signs of the babblers, and driving diviners mad, turning wise men backward, and making their knowledge foolish,
Isa 45:5 ‘I am YHWH , and there is none else – there is no Elohim besides Me. I gird you, though you have not known Me,
Isa 45:6 so that they know from the rising of the sun to its setting that there is none but Me. I am YHWH , and there is none else,
Isa 45:7 forming light and creating darkness, making peace and creating evil. I, YHWH , do all these.’
Isa 45:8 “Rain down, O heavens, from above, and let clouds pour down righteousness. Let the earth open, let them bring forth deliverance, and let righteousness spring up together. I, YHWH , have created it.
Isa 45:18 For thus said YHWH , Creator of the heavens, He is Elohim, Former of earth and its Maker, He established it, He did not create it to be empty, He formed it to be inhabited: “I am YHWH , and there is none else.
Isa 45:22 “Turn to Me and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am Ěl, and there is none else.
Isa 48:12 “Listen to Me, O Yaʽaqoḇ, and Yisra’ĕl, My called: I am He, I am the First, I am also the Last.
Isa 48:13 “Also, My hand has laid the foundation of the earth, and My right hand has stretched out the heavens. I call to them, let them stand together.
Isa 52:6 “Therefore My people shall know My Name, in that day, for I am the One who is speaking. See, it is I.”
Isa 45:21 “Declare and bring near, let them even take counsel together. Who has announced this from of old? Who has declared it from that time? Is it not I, YHWH ? And there is no mighty one besides Me, a righteous Ěl and a Saviour, there is none besides Me.
Isa 45:22 “Turn to Me and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am Ěl, and there is none else.
Isa 45:23 “I have sworn by Myself, a word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, so that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue swear.
I just found this scripture, which totally brings into question the idea, ‘shedding of blood is the only way to receive the forgiveness of sin’. This scripture shows that this is not an accurate view point.
Leviticus 5:11-13 But if he is not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he who sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering… Then shall he bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it, a memorial part of it, and burn it on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire to the Lord; it is a sin offering. And the priest shall make an atonement for him in regard to his sin that he has sinned in one of these, and it shall be forgiven him; and the remnant shall be the priest’s, as a meal offering.
1 samuel 15:22 Then Shemu’ĕl said, “Does YHWH delight in burnt offerings and slaughterings, as in obeying the voice of YHWH? Look, to obey is better than an offering, to heed is better than the fat of rams.
Jer 7:21 Thus said YHWH of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, “Add your burnt offerings to your slaughterings and eat meat.
Jer 7:22 “For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Mitsrayim, about matters of burnt offerings or slaughterings.
Jer 7:23 “But this word I did command them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I shall be your Elohim, and you be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, so that it be well with you.’
Then look at this scripture-
Leviticus 26: 40-46 = 40 And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their treachery which they committed against Me, and also that they have walked contrary unto Me.
41 I also will walk contrary unto them, and bring them into the land of their enemies; if then perchance their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then be paid the punishment of their iniquity;
42 then will I remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.
43 For the land shall lie forsaken without them, and shall be paid her sabbaths, while she lies desolate without them; and they shall be paid the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they rejected Mine ordinances, and their soul abhorred My statutes.
44 And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break My covenant with them; for I am YHWH their G-d.
45 But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their G-d: I am YHWH.
46 These are the statutes and ordinances and laws, which YHWH made between Him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
